Guess Who is Coming Home!!!!!

Ahhhhh guess who is coming Home!!!!

Yesterday Liam was put on a trial:  eating on his own schedule, no NG (tube feeds).  So once he started fussing and trying to eat his fists, we would give him a bottle.  His minimum goal was 160cc in a 12 hour period.  He blasted that goal about 200cc was chugged!

I just called the NICU this am to see when we should come in to bath him and Veronica said "how would you two like to sleep in the hospital tonight?"  "Because your little stud can come home tomorrow!"

Crazy he is only 36 2/7 weeks old stud!  Crazy surprise he has done nothing but impress and is coming home earlier then most!!!

yesterday he gained another 55grams 4lbs 14oz.  Will probably be exactly 5lbs when he comes home tomorrow.....oh ya he needs to pass his car set test first (has to sit in car seat for 1/2 hour without de-sating)

Also veronica (his RN this am)  said Liam pulled his own NG tube out this am.  Someone is telling us its time to come home

Yesterday trying to tell us he is ready for the next bottle

Getting Chunky - 4lbs 10oz

Steadily gaining weight, (about 1.5 oz/day). Liam has quickly become a favorite of the NICU staff and is referred to as THE ROCKSTAR Premie!  Rumor is we need to get a pediatrician asap, as he may be coming home sooner then later!!!! THATS OUR BOY

Little Bath Time & Liam Meets Uncle Shane

4 lbs 2 oz!! (1885grams)

2/2/2014:

4 lbs 4 oz!! (1930 grams) up to 37cc's of breast milk.  And just finished his 2nd bottle today, someone is getting stronger.  So two feeds were via the bottle today, which is a big accomplishment!....meaning Liam was able to coordinate suck, swallow and breath.  He has also successfully feed from mom's breast, but this seems to be more tiring for him.  That's the next big step!

2/3/2014:

Liam has graduated to Open Bed status!  No more Isolet.  Those pictures coming soon.  His "nicotine patch" the little circular patch on his cheek finally came off.  This was left on to hold a nasal cannula in-case he ever required oxygen.  Not our BOY:)

2 Weeks Tomorrow - 4 Lbs?

Liam is crushing it!  Has gained over 300 grams this past week, working on the 4lb mark.  Mom gave him a bath last Sunday, tolerated it so well, I think his dad fusses more then he does at this point.

1/25/14: Liam gaining weight like a Bronco's lineman.  3lbs 8 oz.  Yesterday he was already up to 3lbs 13oz.  Im betting he breaks the 4 lb mark by Saturday!!

Liam's pulse oximeter: reads his oxygen saturation (his oxygen levels in his blood)

Yup he must get his good looks from moms

Growing Boy

Our little Liam is starting to pack it on:)  Up to 25cc of moms milk every 3 hours and gaining weight every day.  This afternoon his iv access was removed, so no more IV nutrition, only moms milk, which is being fortified with extra protein.

Its Grow Time

Our little peanut comes out to cuddle and play

Liam a sucker for the camera lens already:)

Mom's Homecoming - Liam On Deck

Kristin was discharged from the hospital and returned home on Monday January 20th.  She is doing awesome, appetite is off the charts....a grocery store visit two days in a row now:)  The freezer is filled with mama's milk for the little man, surely no shortage of food for this precious boy.

Liam's breast milk feedings has gone from 5cc to 20cc since monday (thats a 300% change in 4 days for you nerds)  He has started to gain weight!
